From Me to You | Happy Valentine's Day xo

I've been sitting here trying to figure out how I felt about Valentine's day before I got in a relationship and frankly I don't think I ever hated or loved it! I think it's a great 'holiday' to express love for the people you care most about in your life. Just like mother's day, father's day or Christmas, it's just that one special day set aside to go above and beyond for that special someone. So whether you're spending the day with your significant other, friends, family or having a little bit of a me time, enjoy it and use this time to reminiscent about all the great love(s) you have in your life. Happy Valentine's Day!

So to commemorate my return for 2018, I created this look which I feel embodies me very nicely. A very soft, simple and flawless look, something sexy, a good representation of the season of course 😉. So let's jump straight into the product list.

THE BASE

For this look, I went with an oldie but trusty L'Oreal True Match Foundation in the shade c6. I tend to like a flawless, effortless look so my base is usually lightweight. Using the Face Precision Oval Makeup Brush from Makeup Revolution I applied the tiniest amount of foundation over my face. I hardly use primers during the cold season so I use my moisturiser as a Primer and double or triple up the dose.

For concealer, I used the new Conceal & Define Concealer by Makeup Revolution in the shade c12. By now you have heard all the hype about this product and I'm here to tell you this £4 of goodness is worth all the rave and then some. It's bloody amazing! Especially for such a cheap price. I've always wanted to try the Tarte Shape Tate Concealer. It's every Makeup YouTubers favourite concealer but after the recent controversy they've had, I'm not too comfortable with purchasing any of their products for the time being (and I say for the time being because I believe everyone is allowed to make mistakes and everyone deserves the chance to rectify that mistake and do better). The Real Technique Beauty Sponge is still my favourite and go-to applicator for concealer.

I'm still loving the Models Own Sculpt & Glow Contour Palette in the Shade Tan Deep. I've had it for I believe 4 maybe 5 months and I've already hit pan and I only wear makeup on occasions. That's how much I love this palette. For blush, I used the Milani Baked Blush in the shade Bella Rose with the Real Techniques Blush Brush and if you're looking for a good Contour brush, try the NYX Contour Brush for £14.

THE EYES

For the eyes I used a mixture of three dark brown-ish, burgundy shades from the The Jaclyn Hill Palette by Morphe all over my crease and blended it outward towards the brow bone and used a mixture of Oh-Zone, Sunburst and Meteor Crush from the Fenty Beauty Galaxy Eyeshadow Palette all over my lid. It's very hard to specifically show on a blog post which colours I used from the Jaclyn Hill Palette because the colours aren't named. But what I was going for was something that complimented my skintone perfectly with a hint of a red-ish/burgundy undertone.

I'm still loving the L'Oréal Paris Paradise Mascara and the NYX Epic Ink Liner. Definitely a go to! For eyelashes I used the style Vegas by Backstage Lashes.

THE BROWS

I thought I could get away with nasty looking brows for a few months but looking back at the photos you can tell they're in a right state. It kinda makes no sense telling you what I used on them for this look because the photos don't do it justice *face palm* I'm trying to grow out my brows so you'll have to excuse them and bear it for another month or so. Product used? MUA Brow Pencil in the shade Brunette. Sorry MUA.

THE LIPS

Lips are my second favourite things to dabble around with because there are so many colours to choose from. For this look, I didn't want a classic red lip and I didn't want to go nude either. I wanted a happy medium. I wanted something bold and bright to compliment the eyes but not too overwhelming. So I went for the NYX Super Cliquey Satin Matte Lipstick in the Shade OBVS - Muted Plum. I don't know about you but this is my first time seeing this product on the shelves and it's growing on me....like REAL FAST! I'm so tempted to buy this in every single colour. This lipstick doesn't dry matte as it transfers, I'd say it more satin than matte. It's very smooth and creamy and glides on very beautifully. Because I wanted a more mauvy/velvety shade, I mixed this with the Nightmoth lip pencil by Mac. Such a great combo.

SET IT OFF

To set it all off, I buffed my MAC Studio Fix Powder in nc45 all over my face and neck (a technique which I still stand by to this day) and drenched my entire face with the NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray.  Something that you may or may not find weird is that I prefer to highlight after setting the makeup, especially right after the setting spray because I feel the setting spray intensifies the appearance of the highlighter. For this look I used the Maybelline Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter in Molten Gold which is by far the best powder highlighter I've ever used.

And.......Whala! Easy and Simple. Just as promised. Something quick, SEXY and fun for tonight.

I'm trying something different this year with the layout of my blog posts so let me know what you think. Is this layout a lot better than previous posts? Let me know in the comments.

As always, I love you for stopping x
