Makeup Tips for Oily Skin

10 Makeup Tips for Oily Skin

1. Only buy products suitable for Oily Skin

2.Cucumber juice helps to improve the appearance of your skin and also to achieve a better pH balance. Apply this before you apply your makeup

3. Avoid applying foundation/powder/blush/eyeshadow with your fingers. Make it a habit to apply your makeup with the appropriate brush available.

4. Use a foundation with a matte finish to prevent shine.

5. Use pressed powder with a matte finish as this is most suitable for people with oily skin.

6. Absorb excess oil on the skin using a blotting paper or by lightly applying powder on your T-Zones. Do not smooth it over the skin as this will rub of the foundation.

7. Use a blush that is a shade lighter than your preferred colour because what happens with oily skin, is that the colour tends to darken as time goes by. So if you're looking to have rosy red cheeks go for a pink blush because with time that pink blush will darken to red.

8. Avoid using liquid or cream blush/eyeshadow as they heighten the appearance of shine on your face.

9. Avoid liquid eye liners as they tend to smear (an eye liner pencil will be more appropriate) and only appear pressed powder eye shadow.

10. Do not over-apply your makeup, you do not want to clog your pores with excess makeup.

Ingredients to look for in makeup:

3. Kaolin Clay - Makeup containing kaolin clay helps to control the oil on the skin.

4. Serecite - This helps to absorb oil and reduce the appearance of pores.
